Oh, the places we've been

Hola amigos! We returned home on Friday from seven gorgeous blissful days under the Cuban sun. It was exactly the vacation we needed to de-stress and re-energize.

In addition to many hours spent lazing around in the sun on the beach and around the pool, we also took a cruise on a catamaran for some snorkeling and a lobster lunch. It was my first time snorkeling and I was absolutely awed by the coral and beautiful fish. We had underwater cameras so hopefully I will have some post-worthy pictures when we get them developed. Cuban lobster... not bad but quite bland in comparison to PEI lobster!

We took in a baseball game one evening. Cubans are as crazy about their baseball as Canadians are about hockey. It was lots of fun and a great chance to see real Cuban life off the resort.

Of course, our adoption journey was not completely gone from our minds. We kept the PEI familes who are in China now close to our hearts. I took note of 5 families at our resort with Asian children, including one family with two sweet little girls who looked to be about 2 and 4 years old. They were sitting across the pool from us one day and it was so hard not to stare! It was like watching our dreams for future family vacations right before our eyes.

Now it's Sunday evening and the reality of going back to work in the morning can't be denied. All good things must come to an end, right? Hopefully the memories of sun and sand will carry me through Monday!
